Revive RVA: Regional Solutions to the Opioid Crisis

This session includes a panel of experts in the field of pain management from both a clinical and pharmaceutical perspective and substance use addiction treatment. Each panel member will discuss his/her unique perspective and experiences responding to the opioid crisis followed by a facilitated discussion and responses to audience questions. We will explore how pain management is changing in response to the opioid epidemic, the growing need for addiction treatment and referral services, and legislation/regulations that are affecting clinicians and pharmacists.We hope to have an engaging discussion that will lead to actionable items.

This session is designed to explore the opioid crisis through the perspectives of Public Safety officials. A panel of experts will discuss where the illegal drugs are originating and how they are entering Central Virginia. They will also focus on the impact opioids have on public safety, new initiatives, the recovery programs in the jails and the challenges public safety is encountering.
